Boating & Rafting

As active river-runners, FOER realizes how important it is to get people informed about this magnificent ecosystem by getting them to participate on a river trip. So we are inviting anyone interested in running all branches of the Eel River with fellow rafters, kayaks and canoeists, and even those who have no prior experience but want to learn more about the river.

Email

or mail a letter to:

Friends of the Eel River
PO Box 4945
Arcata, CA 95518

Main Office in Arcata: (707) 822-9810

We will add you to our interested in boating list. Benefits of being on this list allows us to notify you of upcoming trips, or to joining other members on non-commercial trips where you have your own gear and are skilled.

Some helpful information to include will be your river rafting, canoe or kayaking skills and experience; what type of equipment you have (if any); what type of trip you would like to participate in; if you have a raft; and if you can carry gear or passengers.

We are also interested in identifying people who would be willing to share their knowledge and expertise about river running, hydrology, geology and biology with our members. We look forward to hearing from those interested in joining the Friends of the Eel River on spring river trips.
